April, 2008. Well, after a very long and snowy winter, it looks like spring has finally arrived in West Michigan! We are finishing up the blueberry pruning and the bud set looks very good. We will see what mother nature brings us in terms of frost and her other tricks. Last fall we converted the sweet cherry orchard to blueberries. We have planted an early variety that has a large berry and good flavor. We should have our first crop in approximately two years. Hopefully this will supply enough additional berries to keep everyone happy. We have been truly humbled the last two years by the increase in blue berry friends visiting our farm. |

Welcome to Sandy Bottom Berries!! We are a small, family run, you pick berry farm. Every aspect of our farm is mananged, maintained and created with you in mind. Our blueberries and raspberries are pruned specially for hand picking so that the berries are easy to pick for young and old alike. We welcome families with children of all ages (there is no age limit to pick, but we do ask that children be supervised at all times). We have picnic tables available if you would like to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the country atmosphere. In addition to blueberries and raspberries, we also sell cut flowers (and you cut). We look forward to seeing our old friends and making some more new ones - see you in July for berries!
